Google person finder is a application that is developed by Google to help people reconnect with friends and relatives those are missing in natural and humanitarian disaster.
This application was launched in January 2010 after Haiti earthquake to connect people with their friends and relatives.
This program is designed in a way that anybody (Official or non official ) can contribute to the database and all other people can utilize that information.
All data is available to public and can be searched by anyone.However Google doesn’t verify any information for accuracy.
How Google Person Finder Works
There are two boxes on the landing page.First box is “I’m looking for someone ” and second box is “I have information about someone “.
As the name of first box suggests ,it is for searching missing person.When you click this link, a new page will open containing a form with input field.You can enter here name of the person you are searching for.If any information regarding that person is available, then it will be displayed there.
Name of second box is “I have information about someone”. This box is for agencies (non-governmental or governmental ) and other volunteers to contribute in maintaining the list of missing, injured or dead people in related disaster.
